Marienbourg opens its first border post in Pomerade

Pomerade: On 14 July 2026, the Government of Marienbourg inaugurated the country's first permanent border post, marking a symbolic milestone in the development of public infrastructure and territorial administration, as well as in the strengthening of national identity.

Located on the border between the municipality of Pomerade and the Brazilian municipality of Poços de Caldas, within the grounds of the Carvalho Brothers Farm, the new facility consists of a small border guardhouse designed to serve as the official entrance point to the duchy's rural region. The project was undertaken by the Marienbourgish government at the initiative of HSH Prince Anthony of Marienbourg, Prefect of Pomerade and co-owner of the farm, who proposed the construction as part of broader efforts to strenghten national identity.

Government officials emphasized that the guardhouse is primarily ceremonial in nature., serving as a physical symbol of the Duchy's institutions rather than functioning as a customs or immigration checkpoint. The site is expected to be used for official visits, civic ceremonies, and the reception of guests entering Pomerade.

In a statement, Prince Anthony described the completion of the project as "an achievement that reinforces Pomerade's identity and contributes to the continued interest of the Carvalho family's in the affairs of the duchy".
