Marienbourg
Diplomatic policy
Marienbourg maintains a foreign policy based on the principles of non-interventionism and international cooperation. The state has as a principle the recognition of the right of self-determination and therefore automatically recognizes all micronations that fit the traditional definition—except those cited to the contrary—as sovereign states enjoying full rights.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a series of criteria in order to sign treaties of mutual recognition with other nations, micronations or any kind of sovereign entities, as it follows:
1. A country or entity must be at least 1 year old.
2. A country or entity must have a stable government.
3. A country or entity must not target minority groups either legally or clandestinely.
4. A country or entity must possess multiple communication channels (i.e. website, social media, e-mail, etc.) containing truthful information.
5. A country or entity must exist in real life: self-proclaimed countries with a fictional history, population or claims on virtual maps or imaginary worlds on the internet are not considered as states, but as geofiction.
