Diplomatic policy

Marienbourg maintains a foreign policy based on the principles of non-interventionism and international cooperation. The state has as a principle the recognition of the right of self-determination and therefore automatically recognizes all micronations that fit the traditional definition of micronations, except those cited to the contrary, as sovereign states enjoying full rights.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a series of criteria in order to sign treaties of mutual recognition with other nations, micronations or any kind of sovereign entities
, as it follows:

1. A country or entity must be at least 3 months old.

2. A country or entity must have a stable government.

3. A country or entity must not target minority groups either legally or clandestinely.

4. A country or entity must possess multiple communication channels (i.e. website social media, e-mail, etc.) containing truthful information.

5. A country or entity must exist in real life: self-proclaimed countries with a fictional history, population or claims on virtual maps or imaginary worlds on the internet are not considered as states, but as geofiction.
